About the Medical Law Quarterly
The Medical Law Quarterly is the continuation of the journal Law and Medicine, whose publication ceased in February 2018 following the sudden death of its publisher. In order to preserve the intellectual capital developed around Law and Medicine, the editorial team—expanded in composition—decided to continue academic and research activity under a new title.
The Medical Law Quarterly is published exclusively in open-access
The Quarterly’s central mission is to address the legal and ethical implications of new and emerging developments in medicine. It publishes extended analytical articles, case studies in medical law with legal qualification, as well as concise commentaries on recent legislative changes. It also features case notes and commentaries on rulings of common courts and decisions of medical courts. The journal explores the legal frameworks governing the practice of medical professions, the liability of healthcare institutions, and the legal and ethical assessment of medical practices that remain unregulated or insufficiently addressed by law. Its goal is to propose both theoretical and practical solutions where legally protected values and interests come into conflict with the professional duties of medical personnel.

The Medical Law Quarterly adheres to the standards and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The full COPE flowcharts (Polish version) are available at:
